The small print
Privacy
Short version: this site only collects an email address you chose to give, and you can have it deleted by asking.
What is collected
Only an email address (and a first name, if you add one), and only if you hand it over. There are three places that happens:
- The build log — subscribing stores your email address and the date.
- A free PDF guide (codewithkolin.com/free) — stores your email address, a first name if you choose to add one, which guide you asked for, the campaign tags in the link you arrived from (such as
utm_source), and the date. - An app waitlist on apps.codewithkolin.com — stores your email address, which app you signed up for, and the date.
That is the entire list. No accounts, no passwords, no payment details.
Why
To send what you asked for — the PDF, a launch, or a new build log issue — and to avoid signing you up twice. A free guide sends one email with its PDF link, and nothing after it. Your address is never sold, rented, or shared. There are no ad networks and no third-party trackers on either site.
Cookies and analytics
No tracking cookies. If you pick a light or dark theme, that choice is stored in your own browser and never leaves it. Page counts come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not build a profile of you across sites.
Where it is stored
In a Cloudflare D1 database on Cloudflare's network, and nowhere else. Email is sent through Cloudflare Email Service. No mailing-list provider gets a copy of the list.
Comments on my social media posts
Separately from this site, I use a private publishing tool to post to the Instagram, Facebook, Threads, YouTube, X, LinkedIn and TikTok accounts I run and to answer comments there. Through each platform's official API it reads the public username, account ID and text of comments left on those posts, and the view and like counts of my own posts. That is used only to reply and to see what works; it is never sold or shared. Nobody else can sign in to the tool, and it never reads anything from your own account.
YouTube
The publishing tool uses YouTube API Services. YouTube data is covered by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy, and what the tool stores from YouTube is refreshed or deleted within 30 days, as YouTube's API policies require.
Keeping and deleting
Build log subscribers are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion, and free guide requests until you ask for deletion. Waitlist addresses are kept until that app launches, or until you ask. To be removed from any of them at any time, email info@codewithkolin.com — no reason needed. The data deletion page has the details, including comments on my social media posts.
Who runs this
